A good-value pick in the Three Valleys
Clip into your skis outside the Montana’s boot room and ski to the main gondola on a gentle green run in under a minute. And at the end of the day, swap slope stories beside the open fireplace in the bar and lounge, where there’s often live music too. A game of pool in the games room will tap into that competitive streak, or slow things down a notch in the wellness area with its pool, sauna and steam room.
La Tania is a quiet resort with local slopes geared towards beginners. It’s easy to get on the slopes too, as the accommodation here’s ski-in, ski-out on a gentle green run. For more challenging runs take the gondola to the top and head to Courchevel or Meribel just next-door, or further afield to Val Thorens.
In the town centre there are a few restaurants and bars to pick from, as well as a deli, bakery and supermarket to pick up any essentials if you’re staying self-catered.
And when the lifts shut for the day, you can swap your skis for skates with an indoor ice skating session or strike out on the bowling lane. Looking for something livelier? Head to one of the local bars to sip on your favourite drink and listen to some live music.
